Joanna wants what her sisters have found.
Joanna feels a little left behind now that her two younger sisters are married and settled in their own homes. She’s thinking of selling the family business but her plans are disrupted when ten-year-old Freddy enters her life. His guardian uncle is everything she doesn’t trust. She’d be foolish to open her heart to a wandering cowboy who reminds her far too much of her absentee father.
Rudy likes being footloose and fancy free.
That is until he takes in Freddy. He never expected to have such affection for his young charge. Just like he didn’t expect meddling, bossy Joanna and her ideas of how he should raise the boy. He doesn’t need a woman in his life, not after the way he’s been hurt before.
As Joanna and Rudy help Freddy learn to trust, they discover the boy’s feelings of abandonment strike too close to home.
