Look out Miss Marple and Nancy Drew: Here comes Grace Percy!
Ms Basham has once again put on her sleuthing cap and penned a story worthy of Agatha Christie. It reminded me of a Poirot mystery as it is set in Egypt.
Fredrick has a surprise for Grace: a belated honeymoon to a dig in Egypt sponsored by his cousin Georgia and her husband Sydney. But they get more than surprises when several people turn up dead and they come upon a hidden tomb that is being secretly raided. Fredrick: “Yes, God had given him much more than he deserved, and sometimes, he wondered if God had given him more than he could manage.”
With her signature witty humor, the author delights us with lovable book loving heroine Grace, a swoony hero husband Fredrick and other interesting characters. The story pulls us in with beautiful scenery and descriptions of the inside of a Pharaoh’s tomb.
There is danger in abundance, dashing heroes to the rescue and crafty villains to suspect, a moral lesson of second chances, and not to forget: romance for good measure.
This is the best of the best. I look forward to more escapades with Grace and Freddy.
